The other morning I am fishing a remote spot...as the sun creeps up I see the fins all around me. Damn...they are bass! All sizes but mostly in the keeper range a few smaller a few larger but there were some larger fish in the mix. Finning like sharks. They were feeding on the tons of krill like shrimp about 1/4-1/2 in in lenght. The beach was covered with them you could scoop them up by the handful still alive. The water was rich with these critters and the bass were keyed in on them. I saw many schools of fish all moving slowly with their mouth open gulping these down. Lots of swirls and splashes all night. It was quite a site. (no camera

) and pretty frustrating. I tried everything in my bag and put plug(s) right in front of them 10' off the beach and they didn't even budge. Eels were being mostly ignored. I did manage a couple bumps and two modest fish but there were A LOT of fish there feeding on this stuff. I may go back with a flyrod.
