Acres of stripers

Took the boat for a ride to the islands last night and found 2 1/2 to 3 acres of 15# to 24# fish all on top just making slight swirls s#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&g down sandeels. Not another boat came even close to them and they stayed up for two hours then the fog rolled in and I left them there still rolling on the top. What a crap ride back across Buzzards Bay in the fog at 9:00 pm.

Sounds about the same as what I did not to far from you, loads of small fish where I was, anyway it was a tight line, where I was there were tons of small bass busting in the rip right off the shore

BF yes 16 fish smallest 15# largest 24# I had eels but could not get a hit so I started throwing plugs. Nothing on a popper, nothing on swimers, same on most rubber then I put on a deadly#^&#^&#^&#^& and it was a fish on every cast for two hours till I left do to the fog. What a great night to bad the fog came in or I would have stayed the night.Other boats came around but not close enough to see what I was doing they would just shoot right on by and threw the hole.I did get the largest fish at the end on a PNG swimmer he gave me at the Mass. four leg last month thanks Chris.

Awesome GB, wish I was there.
I would have put on a weightless sluggo and ripped it across the surface, the action is just like a sandeel swimming for it's life.

My buddy is over there now with his wife, wish he could have seen that too but I bet he didn't even fish.

Fished the islands saturday morning but the fog really limited my ability to fish it effectively. We could hear fish busting near the shoreline but sounded like schoolies.

The fog stayed from daybreak until noon...when I scramed out of there. It was like fishing with blindfolds on. But we did manage a couple decent fish.

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

i was at the canal and i have never seen fog as think as it was, couldnt even see the lights on the other side of the ditch. fish were cooperating till the fog moved in, dont think it was the fog, more a tide issue.

Everything is better on the rocks.

Mike what would you like me to call you BLUEFISH KING .You know me I looked at my watch at 6:00 pm and said I think I should be over to Cuttyhunk right now so I did. Back home in bed by 10:00 thanks to the fog. Took 20 minutes to get there and an hour to get back. Had a tug with barge in tow answer my call as I was crossing the bay. Glad he called back with his location as it would have been close if I had not slowed to let him get passed me.

Stranded Fishing Boat

GB:

Was the "Fisherman's Dream" still stranded on half mile rock when you went out last evening?

The boat was a 65' scalloper that ran up onto the rocks at 5AM Sunday. They were hoping to pull it off at high tide.

Greg, I saw that south of the harbor at a certain big arse rocky point last two trips out, feeding on small bait on top, just slurping. I had to go 6" half jerk, unweighted on a 5/0 hook and that really made the difference while they were up top. In fact I had some killer blowups on it, which was a plus for sure.

Jeff I did not go out of Westport but Fairhaven this time. Bob you been getting out in your boat? If so I have news of one of your favorite spots that has had fish on it for the past two weeks under the lights check it out. Mike I think the radar is for sure the next thing on the boat after this season of fog. Glad that the Buchard Tug with barge in tow called back to let me know where he was I would hate to be the one to cause them to go aground again to mess up the bay.

Question

I don't remember my phone ringing Fri. Must have been out side when you called Mike oke: Anyway they are there and in good numbers. Funny thing though as the tide turned and started going out the fish went with it? First time I seen them move out just as the bait was to be coming by. But they only moved out to the channel.

So how was the fishing? I was there yesterday morning at 9:30 and there was a large school of schoolies bustin water in the channel. Only one guy there having a ball one after another. I was not fishing one of my friends wants to go to Block this weekend and his gps was giving him fits so I drove down to fix it and lay in a route from the harbor to Block and the channel entrance there. As I was on his boat fish were busting silversides all around the slip. Hope you had fun. Was Goose with you????
