Since its all whiped out by the storm and water damage now....
it triggered a very old memory...
back in 1972 i was traveling back EAST from Sandiego calif, to mass.
we(my fiance and i ) were traveling with a friend (brian) in his custom Van sharing the driving
on the southern most route.
we stopped in New Orleans and it just happened to be
halloween night.
so we stop into the
Parrot bar for a beer...and there's a special going on
a sign says :
SPECIAL: 7 beers for a buck....
so being thirsty...i grab 7 bucks and say:
49 beers please....
and the bartender said:
sure thing my friend!....and soon we had a coral of beers sitting on the bar
well, after drinking a bunch of -em and feeling quite hammered i forgot my
manners..and asked some cute blonde chick there (perfect stranger) to dance.
towards the end of the dance i suddenly realized i totally efff up and had
really pissed off my fiance who was no longer speaking to me....
so i went to get the van parked several blocks away and figured we gotta git back on the road...and i park it right outside the bar...where there was this
skinny sign that read
no parking.... i completely missed seeing it.
i go inside and there they are still partying and i said:
OK, lets go - time to go. and now , they're kinda drunk too...and say:
nahhh, we have all these beers left still ..and i count 7 glasses still standing...sooo in one minute i drank five of them (small bar glasses) and made them drink one each....
down-em fast , I said.

several minutes later.............
we get outside and find that the
New Orleans Police already have the Van lifted up in the Air and are about to tow it away for illegally parking
...and Brian, now quite cocked goes to grab my
22 rifle ... out of the back...

i'm like O.M.G. and quickly start talking to the officers about letting us go - before my friend goes mental - as i juggled the pissed off fiance, my mental friend wanting to shoot it out with the cops...and at the same time begging the nice police officers to please let us leave... which sobered me up real fast...and luckily
they were very awesome and they released our van... soon though, i was to drunk to drive as all those beers started kicking in...and i let Brian take over...while i crashed in the back. he soon does the same thing...and let my fiance drive....and she had NO driving license... and was followed all the way to the state line by a state cop...who by some miracle didnt pull us over. it was a wild time that could've become really bad.....but didn't.
