Tue morn-afternoon was the worst I have seen it in a while here. no photos but honest 6' + breaking waves were coming across the OB harbor entrance all the way down the channel.
(which faces directly NE) Huge waves were breaking over the ferry dock and running up the road. I didn't check a lot of spots but the place looked like a washer machine. We had some sustained winds at 50 with a few gusts to 63. (I pulled my boat and it is now full of pine needles) At one point the "howl" from the wind was pretty spooky.
My wife took the red-eye back from the west coast to boston arriving tue AM, all the flights to mv were canceled. She took the bus to WH and ended up staying in a hotel cause all the ferrys were shut down. She called me and asked " do you think I should go down to the Patriot boat and take that over ?(that is a small boat (a-la cuttyhunk style) that runs in anything and comes into OB delivering newspapers, and a few workers each day). I said.."That will be the ride from hell, hang out in town and come over the next morning" Looks like winter is here already.
