Fort Myers

Can anyone recommend a guide near Ft. Myers in Florida? I'm going to be down there for a week in January and I'd like to get out a couple times. Is the fishing decent that time of year? Thanks!

I know a great guide in Naples, Todd Geroy, fishes the backwater bays and mangroves between Naples and Marco. He is VERY good. January is not the best for large fish...

I went with Todd in January 2 years ago. I must have caught 50 fish and 8-9 different species on a half day trip. Included was one redfish of about 28 inches caught in about 1 foot of water. Very, very cool. If I was better casting (under mangrove branches) there would have been more.

Went again last April and had a similar outing with larger snook. Again my casting was a problem...

I've chartered Capt. Sean Middleton a couple times. He launches from the Punta Rassa ramp on the Fort Myers side of the Sanibel Island causeway. Great guide and a lot of fun.

Check out Black Water Charters, he has a web site. I fished with him out of Marco. Great guide, he put us to Tarpon, Jacks, and Permit all day long
