Bassmaster

doing my annual send bassmaster a plug thing.you know what it's for.i should just get in the habit of sending you it early in the year.not sure if the pic is going to show, but it's a new pencil popper design i've been screwing around with.figured there is probably no one more qualified than you to put a plug through the paces and to get some feedback on it.put it in some moving water, and keep the rod tip high on a steady retrieve and let me know if you like what it does.hope to have it in the mail by the end of the week.

Looks like you're using its chest as a swimming/wobbling plate. Neat idea. I'm impressed.

yeah, that was the intended idea.when i swam the proto a few months ago no one could have been more surprised than me when it actually worked.things don't usually pan out that way for me.to be honest,i'm pretty amazed i can even make plugs without lopping off a digit or two with how mechanically inclined i am it makes for a pretty versitile popper.does everything a traditional pencil does, with the swimming action being a nice added feature.i imagine you could do them with off center turning.but i'm to scared to even try it.i turn out the blank, and then take it to the belt sander.then finish up the sanding by hand.

Congratulations

That is one of the few out of the box ideas I've seen.

Frasier: Niles, I’ve just had the most marvelous idea for a website! People will post their opinions, cheeky bon mots, and insights, and others will reply in kind!

Niles: You have met “people”, haven’t you?
