Eel Bob and Soft Plastic Question

I have a question for those of you who fish eel bobs. With the possibility of a moratorium on eels as bait, have you had any success fishing say a small Alou eel, or Femlee eel or other plastic in place of an eel tail?

I know a large curltail grub on a jighead is very effective in the river between the United States and Cape Cod. I am interested in learning if the eel bob is as or more effective when used like a typical jig with plastic.

What is your experience? I have been a live eel guy for some time and I am looking to expand my bag of tricks.

I use bullet weights rigged like eel bobs with big Slug-gos and Fin-S-Fish all the time and they work great in current.

I fish bobs quite often - they will outfish plastics in most circumstances.

I'll have a few with me at tommorrows plugathon - if you go stop by and we'll talk more about them.

DZ, Thanks for your eel bob knowledge. I went home looking for space in the freezer on top of the beer fridge....
