US POSTAL SERVICE
Talk about some crazy crap. I shipped out a package on the 2nd. when I look it up, it still has the message about we have been informed that this package is awaiting shipment blah, blah, blah. Now I sent out a secind package on the 9th, to Saugus Mass, check on that one it says it just lef thte Jersey City New Jersey center. WTF I double check the zip, and buers address, it all checks out so I call USPS. The woman is an airhead, I give her the tracking number, she tells me it left Jersey City, I say to her do you see where it is going to, where it was shipped from. How the heck did it get to Jersey City New Jersey when it was shipped from Abington Mass, to Saugus Mass????? She has no clue how or why. Can't tell me where it is going till it gets there. I ask her to check on package 1, she says they have no record of it. And even though they guarenteed shipment between 2-9 days, I can't file a report till day 14. No wonder people like Big Brown.

Curious,
Did you ship Priority mail or parcel.? Always use the delivery confirmation green tag.
Priority does get preferetial treatment. In fact its usually FLOWN to its destination if its more than a couple hundred miles. I get stuff to Calif in 2 days flat, UPS cant even come close to that unless I want to spend lots of $$.
Unfortunately when something goes wrong, its takes 21 days to sort it out. You can file a claim at that time, I was not aware they changed it to 14 days.
Hope it works out.
The Jersey city thing could be the ZIp. you shippped 02351 or 01906 ? . NJ jersey city has 14 #s from 07097-07399 , so 07351 might be one of them right middle of that mess
looks like the 2 was read as a 7 ?. that could be a problem
whatever happened Im 99% sure it was zip code related.

This is exactly why the fed govt. cannot compete with the private sector, the workers have no fear of loosing their job or any repercussions from doing a poor one. On the other hand if you look at ebay for example... if you as a seller donnot have extreemly high marks noone will buy anything from you, if you sell crap you in turn will get poor ratings and so you will not be able to compete with someone else with a better record.
UPS must to a exellent job to get your buisness as well as FedX. You can ship anything anywhere and be 95% confident that it will arive when and where you want it to... and if it doesn't (sometimes this happens)they will either make it right or suffer the consequences(Your buisness going elsewhere).
my opinion

The package that ended up in Jersey City went parcel post from 02351 to 01906-1813. She even said the zips were not close.
My tenant is a USPS supervisor, maybe he can look into it tomorrow.

I hope the one that went to CA didnt have any lead in it, or it better have a Prop 65 warning label on it, otherwise you may get hit with a $10,000 fine if they open it . Wouldnt that be a hoot.
What a system.

I feel for you dude, one one hand somtime USPS loses somthing, on the other UPS will break everything. On one hand USPS is cheaper to get there quicker, but only for small packages. On the other you can ship somthing huge UPS and it cost under 20 bucks. I ship stuff everyday and I use both, it is a crap shoot every time.
