Trailer snapped in half boat skidded accross the highway crashed into the meridan and the boat just kept going accross 495 North and into the trees. No one was hurt thank GOD. The boat was hauled to Big wheels yard in Lakeville. His weekend down the tubes. ouch..be carefull!!

He should be very thankful no one was hurt. Ten bucks says the trailer was undersized for the load that was on it, I learned the hard way but coughed up the dough to make it right, god forbid a mini van full of family members ends up on the receiving end of that and you are found to be at fault

Duke - just saw this as I've been on vacation since the day this happened . . . I was caught up in the traffic and got by it shortly after the first cop arrived . . . your buddy was talking to the State Trooper and was white as a ghost - looked like it scared the crap out of him!

Looked like he was towing with a big white pickup truck . . . the boat and trailer (or what was left of it) was in the median - the boat was off the trailer and ahead of it - as if it had "slingshot" off and forward of the trailer. Eeerily the boat was sitting perfectly upright - the boat fenders with maroon covers still in the bow holders . . . glad everyone was OK - things can be replaced - people can't be.

well if its the 70's and your my pop's, you have a way too old trailer without saftey chains and most likely a beer in the cup holder. then you watch your lobster boat pass you on the high way and see it coast into the breakdown lane. but its not.

very lucky.

glad only his wallet is hurt on this one.

add saltwater to anything and it starts to corrode, could be anything, the hitch failed, ball snapped, trailer popped off ball. as the others have said, thank God no one was hurt.

wild boats

Two weeks ago I had a guy at the lights in Fairhaven dump his boat right in front of me . He was stopped at the lights and as he accellerated the winch line snaped and the boat rolled right off. Good thing I don't jump the gun . It took 4 of us to get it back on the trailer . He was lucky all we did was block traffic for about 10 min.
