This state needs to allow trapping again. The beaver population has exploded since they banned. I also believe they are a contributing factor to mosquito problems as well. The beavers create more standing water for the mosquitos to breed in. Agreed there are many other factors to the mosquito control problems. I read recently where the beaver population went from an estimated 20 million to 100 million since the trap ban.
They are cool animals though.

Agreed.
I took this pic with my phone.. gonna email it to my son..
I took the dog with me to the game at his college Saturday..
at half time took her for a walk around the back side of the athletic fields, looking for a path so she could do her thing .. she was nosing along, then got real pumped.. she dragged me through a stand of wet marsh about 15 feet, to a narrow high spot by a stream... they have been busy in there.. if they finish what they have started.. the lower practise field will get flooded....

The best thing to do is what I do at my summer place up in Charlton. Wrap the trunk in that cheap plastic coated wire fence thats 2 feet high. Works pissa.

but, I did think the nice pile of wood chips was cool.. hard workers, even if they is pests.. I'd love to have a chainsaw chain that could throw a chip like that..
