Post rod question?

just wondering, i have a 13` 3 piece rod its rated at 2-6 _ 15-25lbs med hvy graph comp. id like to know if i can make it a 2 piece rod.the sweet spot is 3-4 oz. thanks.

Dunno, what kind of rod? I'm not aware of many 3 pc surf rods other than some high end, big buck distance rods.

I don't think you could use the same rod as they tend to be setup to have a specific strength to the but, a certain power at a certain percentage of the blank from the tip... All kinds of factors. If you did it and it resulted in a lousy action, you would have 0 rods in that class...

You would be much better off with a new rod.

i kinda figured that, but wasnt sure, thats why i asked. its a south bend seahawk model 4537. and it does throw long. but i keep fighting the rod not good.it was a flea market special and the price was right oh well back to the drawing board.
