every thursday should be like this

had a day off at the last minute and boston harbor seems to have slowed down a bit, so i trailered south a little. launched at 6:30 and 2 minutes out of the harbor the birds were everywhere. started off as mostly schoolies so i bounced from blitz to blitz. found some 10-15# class blues - fun on light gear. then the fun began, rolled up on some gannets dive bombing. wow they are big up close. threw out a shad and the reel starts screaming, a few minutes later she is tired and at the boat. 29 lbs on the boca and i'm smiling ear to ear. it turns out she had some friends w/ her. 7 of them all around the same size. would have liked to put out some bait but the dogs were thick. the blues were puking up peanuts and macks. all and all another great day on the water but it won't last forever. kind of makes up for the 50 or so pounds of rotten mackeral i found on wed when the freezer crapped out. gonna screw off one day next week if anyone is interested. ps thanks marshcappa, and bob maybe next time
