"MOASS"

"MOTHER OF ALL SUPER SWAPS"

Who's ready? I'm thinking 30 builders. Just wanted to get people to start thinking about it. I enjoyed running it last year and won't mind doing it again this year. Post below if your interested and sometime in November, I'll post a sign up sheet.

More details to follow.

oh.. oh.. oh..

30, or 31?

only thing.. this gets 30 guys building.. and kinda starves out some of the posting.. lots on the swaps, yes, but 30 of one kind, or 30 of 30 kinds.. if ya know what I mean.. not trying to be a killjoy, but I know some guys were jonesing to be working on other things last winter.. and some not in the swap were looking for some of us to be posting pics of different (other) things we were building...just some food for thought.. my 2 cents, for what it's worth..

I'm a definate maybe tho.. will mull over..
in for sure, if NIB is

what are you thinking..Mid November sign up.. Feb 15th deadline?
same drill as last year?

I'd pay $30 to see 1 NIB plug! BTW, is it builders choice for design or a specific style?

Russ, it's builder's choice. Whatever you want to build.

I was thinking end of February to mid March deadline.

U guyz are nutz. It would take me 5 years to build 30 plugs. I'll be a spectator, this should be fun to watch. Too many ideas for plug projects to devote all my time to 30 swappers. Besides I was never big in the commitment department.

Why even try.........

Question

I would like to get in on the swap, but my wife needs to know how much $ it'll cost to get in(shipping and handling type stuff) before she'll let me join . 30 plugs is a lot, but if I got 'till February I can definately do it. I usually do about 15 in a batch anyhows but all different types. It'll be less changing in setups to do them all the same so it should be easier that way.

Also, are these to be sent fishable out of the box or without hooks? Any specific types of lures we're talking about?

Shipping will be about $10. What happens is, you send $10 in the package with your lures so I can mail the swap lures to you. So for shipping to and from, it'll be $20 total.

You can send the lures with or without hooks. If you send without hooks, just let us know what size works on the lure so the swappers know what hooks to put on.

I've had a few ideas I'd like to play with .. Also need to make a giant pile of needles,,to fish ,,Between giving and loosing, ran out of my favirote late fall . I want to make a heavy ,deepwater ,slope head swimmer.. A surface slope head swimmers ,,varies needles,,,bottle needle,, bottle darte needle. I want to improve finish adhesion to wood . I want to make more handcarves,, smaller stuff .. I think I'm going to pass on the swap this year to get all this done in our short off season .. Its hard to lay off this swap ,, the plugs I got last year are true treasures ..

I'm in if every body does hooks, I don't want to shell out for a ton of VMC's and then have to buy more. At least I'll have sometning to do this winter.

How about as another option Nobody puts hooks on....thay way you can put on what you want after the fact.

It doesn't matter to me.....I'm good either way

I think the no hook option would make it a lot easier to ship, smaller package, and would eliminate hard feelings if some people put on 4x VMC's and others used something of lesser quality and the other builders felt they had to change them out costing them more money. Unless it's agreed that we all use the same hardware, swivels included. But I'm the new guy so I'll go with the flow and like it .

*added: We could post here what size and style is recommended on the builders plug by the builder.

Good point, we wouldn't need to use hook protectors etc either.

Maybe I missed it but when would the plugs have to be finished by?
I might be interested but I'm slow.
No hooks for everyone makes sense - easier to ship and it takes no more time or money to put hooks on the plugs you get instead of the ones you make.

I haven't really had the chance to make very many plugs for some time - too much to take care of - but I should be starting back up by December. March should be fine.
