Couple things
Last night, my father passed away. He'll be missed by me, all of his kids, his wife, my grandmother, his brothers, and our other friends and family.
Overall, he was a good guy that did some important things but he has been sick for the past 10 years so. He was kind of playing with the house's money anyway. Miss ya Dad...
But I wanted to pass along that I'll be offline a little over the next few days and that I might not be able to make Cuttyhunk this weekend (although that may be just what the doctor ordered). I still want to try but I won't know either way until later this week.
Everyone that can, give a little extra hug to yuor dads this weekend. I know I'll be hugging my son...
Thanks,
John

So sorry to here that, John.
It is always tough, but must be especially so with the holiday this weekend.
My and Donna's toughts will be with you and your family.
Hopefully, he is in a land full of fish, or full of whatever he enjoyed most.

John,
If I may speak for us as a group here at S-B, we ALL have you, your family and your father in our prayers. A difficult time no doubt. Many of us have been through this loss, myself included. Never a good time, (my father passed away on a Christmas Eve) but we can only be assured they are OK and no longer suffering. Stick close with your family, rely on your faith, and reach out to friends who are there for you when you need it.
We're here if you need a voice at the other end of the line.
Best to the family.
Ross

John, you have Karen and my best wishes.
As you know, I will have a rare chance to see my dad for the next few days. He will be up wednesday night to fish for several days. That to me, is as quality of time as we can spend together. I think it will mean a little bit more to me, knowing what you are going through.
I generally only see him 2 or 3 times a year, but we usually make those times count by spending that time out on the water.
Hey, you need to talk or whatever... when you take care of what you need to take care of, let's set a day and get together and fish.. cool?
Weekend or weekday (I'll take a day off), whatever, let's just get together.
Take it very easy.

Thanks everyone. I know that I appreciate and that my family appreciates all of your thoughts & prayers. It wasn't a shock but it's still a shock. He's in a much better place right now.
Again thanks...

Bad news John. If there's any way I can help out , just call. I'm right up the road.
Sit alone and think about the past. Then sit with your son and think about the future. Both will make you cry but its good for you.
Sorry for your lose.

John, I'm sorry to hear about your loss . You and yours will be in my thoughts. If you can't make Cutty and I don't either (for my own wacky family reasons), maybe we can hook up for a morning excursion out of Scituate. Like you I'm calling this one late in the week, so I'll pop you an email or a post later. Hang tough.

JohnR, Gwen & Liam, we are sorry to hear the sad news. I have had many deaths in my family and no matter how much you know its going to happen it is still never easy to lose someone you love. You are in our prayers and hope that God helps ease your pain and sadness. I am also getting a rare opportunity this weekend as my dad and mom are coming back up from PA for about a week to do a little Harbor fishing on the boat. Can't wait to see him and mom as I only get to see them about 4 times a year, but talk to them every day. Hang in there John, if you need anything let us know.
