What a shame....after all they put that poor horse through.....they should have done it in the first place! He suffered too much!

tough call. lots of people were routing for him (including myself)
too bad though, he was a great horse.

Jen and I follow horse raceing somewhat. Her Dad owned and raced them. That is sad . Good horse.

actually
they could clone that horse if they really wanted too...
and you can bet that there will be more colts
being born from his bloodline from many
frozen sperm
samples.
to bad it took this long .... and i'm glad
he's no longer suffering.

I don't know if thats 100% true. I'm sure they filled up a couple of 5 gallon buckets the 1st week he was in recovery.
A lot of these guys really do develop a bond with these animals and its a tough decision to make.
Very Sad for the animal though.....was a beautiful horse

I was just reading an article on this and his leg actually did fully recover from the injury, all the bones had healed perfectly. He had developed a condition called laminitus that had settled into 3 of his 4 hooves and that is why they ended up having to put him down.....Real Sad he was so close to a full life again
