I heard the beach at Katama broke through. Chappy is an island again. This could be an easy to reach fishing hole.

I spoke with a friend on the island today...they are not sure yet how deep the break is. Still hope it could just be a temporary thing.

It was close to doing so last year. Not surprising. I wouldn't be surprised to see it fill in just as the man-made openings do.

I believe it was open after hurricane Bob some years ago, then closed within weeks because of the normal sand movement along the shore.

It'll be interesting to see how that turns out. 4 WD access would be a bummer but it might be nice if small boats can get through there from Edgartown.

This is south beach! I haven't seen it yet but I've been told the cut is
>anywhere between 100 yds and 1/4 mile wide and may be up to 25' deep!

Save the sticker money for a tent cap and sleeping bag.

That could be fun too, especially with the right fishing female.

The piping plover lovers will probably abandon thier cause now that there is no beach access to keep us off of. No more fun for them at least.

I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if this will change Wasque at all.
