I won't start nights for a few weeks yet, maybe third week in May or so. To early to loose sleep over dinks.

I can't wait for the nightime game. I will start around my parts around the end of May. My schedule isn't too condusive to chasing dinks during the day, so nightime is the right time.

I'm not to sure about the surf, but I know there are definitely nice fish gettin taken from night on the banks of certain rivers in the area. For people using big baits, there will still be some big ones taken during the day for some time too.

I'm 50/ 50 % days to nights in early Spring certainly... but even 'till June. (Talking surf- fishing here...) I've had many big Bass daytime in Spring, & not only on bait...
Pre- front cloudy days in shallow "inside" areas minus boat- traffic for getting them on artificials...

Haven't fished yet, but will do two weeks of days in the ditch starting in about 10 days, then switch to nights around the first quarter moon which is the third week in May. I do all nights after that. There are few, if any, large fish in the surf right now in our area. Save your energy.
Oh yeah, by nights I mean nights from 9pm-5am. Some people call fishing 6pm-9pm nights, but that's not night fishing. Its kind of in between, not really day, not really night.

I have been nights since the last week in march . I'm starting to see some bigger fish mixed in . Another week the 30s will be roaming around .. I have been on the fish for 3.5 weeks now . They keep getting bigger and bigger .
The amount of bait and horseshoe crabs swimming around gin clear water is amazing . The moon shinning down and the ospreys diving into bait , and complete silence . I love Long Island at 3 am !!!!!!!

It may be a week or so early, but I dont want to be late. I know some areas that always turn on in May and I always miss it. This year I want to at least give it a shot.
I NEVER have luck for fish over 24" in the day. Could just be I'm clueless, we'll see how it goes.

Its been all nights for me so far because of the family stuff and its been good. However, if I had the time to get out, I wouldn't give up on days for awhile.
