Driving on the beach question?
I've never been out there in my own vehicle.......I read what you are required to have to go out there.....I just don't know what to expect...can I get a day sticker? what time can I get one? Is anyone interested in meeting me out there and giving me a couple pointers? Any help would be great....I don't want to just go out there and cause problems because I don't know what I'm doing....Thanks for any advise or help.

they have weeklys and season.weeklys are 50.00 and season is 150.00.you can call the off-road update line[not up dated enough but]for conditions and closures.the #508-487-3698 and it will tell you the extension to talk with one of the "officals".LET THE AIR OUT TO 12 to 14 lbs and you can go anywhere.

Pay attention to the signs - you will have to sit thru their instructional movie and that will give you an idea of the beach. The only advice I will give you is to lower the air pressure to at least16 pounds and drive in low gear. If you feel the vehicle straining, lower the pressure a couple of pounds. Low and Slow isn't just a slogan. Also - stay off the backside dune until you are sure of your abilities. It is pretty soft and steep.

They'll give you a ticket if you are over 12psi. Doesn't matter what kind of tire or vehicle. Go with 15 if you want, just don't get caught. When are you planning on heading out?? It's really a piece of cake.

call that number and they'll give you all the info. I aired down to 10 in my expedition. The reason they want you to drop to eat least 12 is too many poeple ignore it and get stuck and they mostly get stuck in the narrow areas so nobody can get by...it's a GREAT time!!!

8 to 4:30 7 days aweek. There is a limit on weeklys which is i believe 200.since the passes are issued daily the limit is sometimes met because it's a total of 200.this early in the "season"you should be ok.Big vacation weeks could be a problem.

They'll check your tires every chance they can get.
NS versions of the "sobriety check"
I'd let my old baja tires on the 'burban down to 10 psi, broke three tires off the bead one day, though.
Glad my buddy's in close with the service station next to Yardarm's.

The dune to the backside is a bear.. low and slow is a must except at that hill. I had to get a running start to get over the hump. Real soft sand. 9 lbs was a charm.
