Thank You HABS

No this isn't about a personal best, or even about large. This is about a recent trip to Montauk. You know, Montauk where many think Neddlefish and Super Strike are the same word.

20 knot quartering wind, rising tide, current against wind, small rock, dark.
My buddy has on a SS Stubby and I have on a Habs 1.5 needle in yellow and white. Mid teen fish and Habs out performs SS 2 to 1!!!

THANK YOU!!

I'd rather be fishing!

Last year I had an evening where I was fishing that plug (same color) next to a guy with the same color full size needlefish by another maker. It was more like 5 to 1. Needless to say I have a few of those Habs stubbies now.

Last week I was on a certain island and landed a nice, personal best fish on a Superstrike. 30 minutes later the wind cranked up to 25-30 right in my face, so I snapped on my black night & gale. 10 minutes later there was a 32lb fish on the beach that was caught at the end of the cast. I thought that the hook was too far back to catch a bass - guess not.

I must have bounced that thing of the rocks at my feet a few hundred times that night, and all the paint is still on the plug.

The key...

...is figuring out what they want and when they want it.(how's that for a bit of profundity?) Both those needles are killers for sure.

Truly a wealth of useless information.
