Surf Fishing in Maine

Can anyone give me advise on best places to surf fish for stripers in Maine from June to August. Planning a 2008 Vacation in Maine.

Thanks

I would try the beach

You most likely are not going to get a responce with a spot

just do what I did on my last trip to FL take a ride along the coast look for signs stop and fish

its more fun that way

What part of Maine? southern? Best fishing is in the southern quarter of the state's coast. Stop in to Eldridge Bros Fly shop in Cape Ned#^&#^&#^&#^& or e-mail #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&.

Why even try.........

Of course I would like the excate spot but not foolish enough to give my favorite spots away either. Basically I just need an area or a few towns were I can rent a cottage with the family and just go fishing. The one thing I do in any new area is stop at local tackle shop and try and get some info.
Thanks for your replies

Wells would be a good start. Best bet would be to fish the estuaries that dump into the ocean. Also any of the beaches will produce afterdark soaking clams or plugging. All you really need to do is drive the coast and fish. A real scenic spot is the mouth of the Kennebec at Fort Popham and the surrounding state park beaches.

That is not true, I saw one and it was small, really small.
Seriously, there are fish there and they are in the ocean and rivers. In fact unlike RI they seem to hang out in rocky spots all the time.
