Exclamation Save Menhaden, Fluke & Stripers – Win Trip to Costa Rica

I figured I would break the news here first; this is the ultimate win-win situation.

By renewing your individual membership (not-affiliate membership through a club) or by joining the Recreational Fishing Alliance’s newly formed Rhode Island Chapter, your name will be entered into a drawing for an all expense paid trip to Agua Dulce Lodge (Costa Rica’s newest luxury fishing resort). This is an opportunity to support the one organization that is best poised to: help prevent us from loosing a meaningful fluke season; protect the stocks of menhaden that return to Narragansett Bay; add additional fish ladders; help restore our herring runs and sensibly manager striped bass. These are but a few of the key issues that are being tackled by the recently formed RI Chapter. Your odds of winning a SEVEN DAY TRIP FOR TWO is incredibly high…this drawing will be limited to RI members only. We will be signing up people at the RISAA show or you can renew on-line or join on-line.

The new fishing resort is located right on the beach on the Osa Peninsula. I’ve been fishing this area for 9 years now and have made 23 trips to the Golfo Dulce on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and I can tell you that the lodge is located on the most productive stretch of beach in the gulf.

I am personally overseeing their fishing operations as well as marketing efforts. I’ve created two really exciting options for hard core anglers – kayak fishing and surf fishing. I’ve made two trips over the last six months, one with Crazy Alberto and the other with Ron Arra. Both of these very accomplished anglers hooked up to what could have been the biggest fish of their lives (no less than 8 times) and they just couldn’t land them…both from the boat and from the surf. We’re talking unstoppable runs on 65 pound braid with up to 150 pound test leader!

I’m including a photo collage that was created from shots taken during those trips. I’m currently working on a DVD that I will be showing at various fishing shows…it will blow you away. This trip will include: three days of fishing both inshore and offshore on a center console (up to 27’); two days of kayak fishing at both sunrise and sunset (8 hours per day); a full day of surf fishing out of an air conditioned 4 X 4 at a variety of locations (generally the mouth of rivers that either dump into the bay or directly into the Pacific); both your international and in-country air fare; all meals at the lodge and on the boat; all beverages including beer, wine and local liquor AND a night in a first clas San Jose resort.

I’m sure both Ron and Crazy Al will chime in with their own personal observations. Hopefully we’ll sign up a lot of new members that will be motivated to help us protect our rights as anglers and help sensibly manage our stocks of fish.

The lodge’s website is a work in progress and I’ll be getting to that over the next several weeks so please be patient. http://www.aguadulcelodge.com

The drawing will be done the last day of the RISAA show…you don’t have to be there to win…so join up or renew your membership today at http://www.joinrfa.org

Good Luck!
