Well I saw......
Herring in a run yesterday and last night took a 20 inch rainbow from a local pond on the bug.
Ahh...... Spring springs forth with all the signs. Blackbirds, Redwings, robins, Swallows and crocuses popping up along 6a.
Spring on Cape Cod cold as it is the natural forces will not be denied.
I think we may see the wee small striped ones a bit earlier this year.
We made it!!!!!

Snow is gone from Northern RI and the crocuses are up with the daffodils. No flowers yet but they will come. I also was at Conimicut point yesterday and the birds were working some type of bait fish close to shore.

The damn peeper frogs were out last Tuesday and Saturday night in my neighborhood. I can't stand them or the racket they make. Also saw a red-tailed hawk in my yard on Sunday. And all the trash (including a busted up jet ski and big blue plastic barrel) in Lake Winnecunnet has washed up on shore now that the ice is gone.

i am declaring it spring
no peepers here yet
ice out is just days away
screw the calender...
now it's time to watch water temperatures closely
remember the ozone layer is thinner

I saw a half dozen or more male cardinals in their day-glow red phase singing their mating song. It was awesome, all these bright red birds in the trees at once. Spring is here!!

Ahhhh yes and all that pollen clogging my sinus's and the annual sinus infection because I hate taking my drowsy allergy meds. Nothing says spring is here more than a pounding sinus headache! Seriously though no pain no gain and I say bring it on cuz it just gets me closer to being back on the water.
