Down and out in Cumberland RI

I had to cancel my trip to Mexico today. I'm really hobbling around. I still can't figure out how I hurt my knee changing that blown out tire Sat night . Somehow I twisted it good though. Can't even go up a flight of stairs. Definitely a bummer.
Well hopefully it will get better by next weekend.

Depending on when I have to reschedule my business trip , I may miss the MDA tourney. That's another bummer!! Anyway , I'll still contribute to the site entry fee even if I can't go. Its a good cause. Maybe I'll get lucky and the schedule will allow me to fish it.

Ah yes, knee problems - no fun... Sometimes just moving the wrong way is enough to do it. Sorry about Mexico but maybe the Tequilla aquired locally will help make up for that (and the knee pain)

Tough luck indeed, next time call AAA and go take some more casts while you wait.

Saltheart I would have swapped it for you if I was there. Too bad about your knee, I know how that is. I hope you get better soon, and can make the MDA, you are a wealth of information. I enjoy listening to all of your fishing knowledge.

Saltheart,

Sorry about your tire, your knee, and your ruined mexican adventure.

This is part soap opera but I think it has an important message.

Many of you are RIers. If you can remember about 8 years ago, two young men from Fairfield, CT were killed in an accident on I-95 on the way to a concert. Both were very young. I believe they were just finishing their junior year in Highschool. The two of them were changing a tire on a Jeep while a Tauras was in back with their flashers on. A man driving along in a company pick up became distracted and hit the tauras, which hit the tire one boy was holding and then hit the other young guy. The young man holding the tire, Dave (a fellow fisherman), was decapitated and killed instantly while his twin sister, on their birthday no less watched. The other young man, Rich, died at the hospital. Richy was my cousin. Please guys, if you ever experience a flat tire, keep driving as far as you can and hit the first off ramp you can. Even though my cousin and his group did everything they could by pulling onto the shoulder, using their flashers and using people to divert traffic, they still became another statistic. So please, just go to the nearest off ramp or as far up onto the grass as you can. A bent rim is nothing. Nothing compared to a life that is. Please be careful on our roads.
