ONE LAST CAST

((Clarification)) Best Thread Today...so far.

Lets just say that you bet one cast against life or death. You have to catch a striped bass over 20lbs. If you hook up, and land it, you live. If you catch nothing, you die. ONE CAST.

Where would you take that one cast? What lure/bait be on the end of your line? What would the weather be like? What month would it be?

Would you bet it all against a single retrieve of a lure, or would you let a chunk soak for maximum exposure?

What would you do?

I'd use a Snag hook behind the counter at the fishmarket in Lawrence.

and FYI...the best thread ever was the Hottie thread...sorry

Why even try.........

live bunker
Narragansett bay
the month of June

One cast with live bait, means that it swims around until it gets eaten........

making s-b.com a kinder, gentler place for all

After paying someone to chum a rocky point for several tides, my one cast would be a whole bunker.

Would live-line a bunker on a September New Moon right after a hurricane just blew through.

Raider, I immediately tried to change the title after I posted, but apparently you can't. I was bored at work and decided to start this, but I really wish I called it somthing different.

Oh well.

I would soak a chunk on a naked beach at a Hugh Hephner party. If I didn't catch a striper at least I would go out with a bang!

Same place we fished eels together a few weeks ago. Same tide. On or about May 15th with a 9" tsunami...

It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

I told you I use the tsunami's when you where a rattle fan..
I was gonna say next to you throwin eels in oct..
I have a jig thing believe it or not I prefer over the Pencil thing.I can pretty much pick out on a tide chart when and where I will get another good fish next yr.I have done it 4 years in a row..While it usually takes a few cast's.A few years ago I did it on one cast..

FORE!
It's usually darkest just before it turns Black..

if you had a gun to my head for

one single cast and you were gonna

pull the trigger, if i didn't brang a keeper or bigger
on the retrieve,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then i'd have to go with;

Sept's New
2-4 foot rollers
certain UDL on Cape Ann
'bout 3 hours before dead Low
pissing, abit, ~with no fire water~
after chumming for an hour or so prior
to tossing the head half of a fresh pogie
chunker style,,,,,,,,loaded with a snelled 8/0
Gamakatt right between these two VW sized boulders
at the base of this trough that dumps several gallons of surf
with each wave into what should be my life-saving spot to CAST to.

then simply wait for the Big Gurls to hit IT!!
give her her BOW, let her ruuuuuun; then put
her at yer feet. and if i do, do i get to snuff YOU??

"The first condition of happiness is that the connection
between man and nature shall not be broken."~~ Leo Tolstoy

Tight Lines, and
Happy Hunting to ALL!
