Faked Out

Last night while fishing the shallows of rocks and bubbleweed I hooked into a fish. It fought like a good sized bass, making a couple of runs and offering frequent headshakes. Fortunately I had my light. GATOR BLUE.

My wife foul hooked her one and only bluefish one night on Lobsetrville Beach. It was hillarious. Struggled like you wouldn't believe. Begged me to take the rod I refused. After about 20 minutes I told her to back up, whcih she did, about 50 feet. She had verybody on the beach in stitches. What an epic battle.

I took my brother out last year for his first time surf fishing. We fished a power plant outflow which had lights around it. He got to my house at 4 am and were fishing at 4:15. He got the first hit at about 4:30 that ran like a train. From then until about 11:30 it was non-stop blues, with a break or two to rest our arms. They were all between 10 and 18 lbs with most on the higher end. It was the most insane nonstop action I had yet. The funny thing was he thought it was a regular occurence.

We never did get back that far out on that reef. Boy, did we smoke bass for 2 or 3 weeks straight every night. Has to be 4 or 5 years ago.

No boat, back in the suds.
