Rigging an Eelskin Swimmer video

We've put together a how-to on rigging up Eelskin Swimmers for those who have never given it a try before. There's also a very quick how-to on the Breakaway clip. If you've used them for years it's nothing new, but it always seems that people ask how they are used and there's always the occasional post from someone who was using them backwards.

Got more ideas for videos? Let us know and we'll try to make them happen.

I rigged that same plug a few weeks ago. Swims great, but I didn't go with the hooks that came with it. Way to small IMO. I went with one 2/0 in front instead of what appeared to be two size #1 hooks. Cool video; thanks for posting.

How do you guys store these and how long will they last. They can't smell to good in the back of a vehicle after awhile, although it probably wouldn't even be noticable in my car.

Your Wish...

is our command...

Rudy was kind enough to come down and show us a great way to rig an eel. There are LOTS of ways to rig eels but this nice, straightforward video sheds some light and provides a nice starting point for anybody wondering just how to rig an eel. Thanks Rudy!

Yeah Pete...

You know me, once we've got the footage I hate waiting on it... It's killing me having to wait on posting the VS self service video... soon enough though...

Great job on the video. Man we are lucky to have the modern technology to put this on the net for everyone to see.

Oh , BTW , its good to snip the intestine from the skin as you peel past the anal vent because you can rip the skin all the way down the length from the vent to the tail sometimes if you don't snip it while peeling off the skin. Not so critical if it for a skin plug but very important if its for a skin jig.
