Arrow ACONE Raffle

Hi Everyone,

Last November, Adoption Community of New England (http://www.adoptioncommunityofne.org ) , was in financial trouble and this season it is even worse. JohnR was nice enough to allow me to post this on the main page for ACONE. As it stand we will run out of funds by the end of this month! We dug into our reserves back in September. We haven’t been able to get certain grants this year and because of the bad economy, money has been tight so we haven’t gotten in many donations.

We rely entirely on volunteers for teaching our various programs and the country’s largest adoption conference. We, the ACONE board of directors (BOD), voted last Tuesday that we would go ahead with the 2009 New England Adoption Conference even if it had to be run entirely run by volunteers. We have cut back overhead expenses, are looking into breaking our lease for the office space and our next step will be to let go our two paid staff.

November is National Adoption Month. Proceeds from this raffle benefit ACONE with all our programs, workshops and events that support and inform those touched by adoption. The BOD was able to get 41 wonderful prizes donated. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Drawing is November 21, 2008. Here is the link to the list of prizes: http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/med...affle-list.pdf

To buy tickets: http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/pages/home/raffle.php

If you would rather print out a form and send in a check: http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/med...order-form.pdf

For a regular donation: http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/pag...e-to-acone.php Donations are tax deductable. ACONE is non-profit: 501 c3.

I ‘ve been on the ACONE BOD since April of 2007. My life revolves around ACONE. I help out in the office when I can stuffing envelopes, putting away books, photocopying, recycling and setting up for classes. I work on various committees : executive, finance, fundraising, public relations & conference. Fishing the past two seasons has been terrible! When I have time - I try to sleep. None of the BOD are paid of course. The benefits we received are the warm fuzzy feeling we get inside from helping others in the adoption triad.

What are my ties to adoption? My wife and I adopted a baby girl from China in Jan. of 1998. When we told my father that we were adopting from China, we learned that my grandfather was adopted! Needless to say we were shocked. It turns out, grandpa, came over in the 1920’s to a family that didn’t have a son. My father could only tell us that there we no records available.

Please – if you can only just buy one raffle ticket it would help ACONE!

Thanks again, JohnR & the S-B community for your support.

Gratefully,

Ray Lee – ACONE Board of Directors - V.P.

Ray - I'd like to buy some tickets, but the link isn't working for me - could you check it please -

Or it may just be something on my end here, not sure

Hi Chuck,

Much thanks for wanting to buy some tickets!

I will admit, it IS confusing so don't feel bad....... lol.

Click here to buy tickets online:

http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/pages/home/raffle.php

Check how many/much you want to buy (quantity) right below " Purchase Raffle Tickets Online". Once you do that then you should be able to select what prize you want to place each ticket into and then submit.

You can also print sheet - hand check what you want for prizes and snail mail it into the Westborough office.

Adoption Community of New England, Inc.
45 Lyman Street #2, Westborough, MA 01581

http://adoptioncommunityofne.org/med...order-form.pdf

If it doesn't work again: go to main page and click thru the raffle links on right hand side of page in the blue block area.

Thanks again for your support!

Much thanks fellow southpaw, The Specialist!

There are some AWESOME prizes and we haven't been selling a lot of tickets either. Drawing is November 21th - next Friday!!!

Even if we sold 1200 tickets, you still have great odds at winning a prize. Some prizes are more popular than others. FYI - #41 is in high demand ..... LOL and so are the Pat's tickets.

PLEASE folks take advantage of the great odds of winning a prize and supporting a worthy cause.

Thanks again for your support S-B !

Thank you - Slingah, Moses and Bazza! I hope you guys win what you want.

As of last Thursdays nites mtg - we have sold just 400 tickets! There are some folks whose name I'm not familiar: could be S-B members, could be friends of a friend, other co-workers: no way to tell, but we are thankful for each ticket we sell !

6 more days to go! I hope that we are able to sell more tickets !

Lots of prizes for ALL age classes.

PLEASE consider buying some to support a great cause!

Hi Mike - wooo hooooo! Thanks for the tickets! Good luck!

Much thanks for the toro. I just called my sister: she did pick it up Friday and forgot to tell me. I'll grab it tomorrow. I saw some recipes online which I'm anxious to try - trick is to not over cook it. It gets dry once it has cooled. If I find a good recipe I'll let ya know.

Much thanks mikecc (hows the bowhunting been dude?!)!

Wow, JohnR - I should be buying you tickets. Huge thanks to you and S-B for helping us out.

Thursday afternoon ticket count was up to 910 ! Big surge in sales just the last couple days and I am sure more will come in overnight.

Not sure what time we are halting sales, but I am sure any purchased overnite or in the early morning will still make it with time to spare!

This is the last call for your change at some great prizes for a wonderful cause!

Thanks for extending it. I saw this a few weeks ago and was going to buy tickets, but forgot. I just noticed it again and bought some tix. Great work your doing for a great cause.

congrats Bazza see you there

thanks for the chance Ray

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

6 of the 41 prizes were claimed by S-B members.

Pat's tickets
A Little Inn
Pandora PowerPak.
Sport Basket
Tee for Two
Green box of books

I was wrong with total - we collected $4080.

Huge thanks for those that helped buy tickets! Some people names I know and others I don't so if I didn't thank you with a pm please accept my apology.

The generousity of many of the people here amaze me. Proud to be a fisherman.

Economy is real bad right now. Lots of non-profits are hurting BIG time.
