DEP ONLINE SITE-some bait and tackle shops and some town clerks offices.to sell i understand you need $1800 terminal to make a $1 a license,1 reason rivers end did'nt want any part of it,plus its like a credit card receipt from tc office.from dep you can print to your printer and make as many copies you need.

You can not laminate these licsences as the heat from the lamination process turns the whole thing completely black.
I know its rediculous.
Just a word of cautions.

Just "laminate" it with packing tape. I did that on mine and the old lady's and have not had any issues. Good old governor Rell. She also jacked the filing fees in all the courts with 100%+ increase all around as well as massive increases in filing fees. Not fishing related, but be prepared to be screwed even harder if you get sued...

$10/$15 is comically low.
Someone must have read up on how to deny people their freedom. Small changes are very important.

What turns these things black is the heat from the lamination process. We have found that the lettering fades away just from being in your wallet.

I'd be all for it if the state then opens all the parks to fishing 24/365 and/or opened up all the public access points to the sound with some parking and/or put the funds to wildlife/fishing programs, but I don't see that happening too soon. Maybe time for nobody to pay and see how much $$$ they decide to spend on enforcement.

Take the license you get, fold it in half, stick a piece of scrap paper between the now folded license and laminate. My FW license is done that way and no problems w/ the lamination.

Reason why it turns black when you laminate it is the printers at the tackle shop use thermal paper and the heat from the laminater darkens it. Do what I did and just go on the website and reprint the license. I made multiple copies stuck each in a sealeble baggy and put copies in surf bag, waders, wallet, Surftop and in hat. I figure if I do get asked for a license I'll have a copy somewhere on me. It's not the $10 that bothers me, its how well will they enforce it. I know a few spots where they can make some serious $ if they start enforcing it.

i don't know if it's the same kind of paper as the receipt copy
you get when you buy a freshwater license but we laminated those too
just as back up... with no problems...
i think this machine only uses glue anyways...

I picked up my SW license yesterday and had it laminated w/ no issue. The talk at the B&T was not only the license itself but also the amount of visible enforcement that has been around lately. Not sure if the enforcement is educational, written warning or actual tickets. But I am very happy to see this level of enforcement, now; if only the current level of enforcemnt is maintained.
Will this enforcement be around come April and May of 2010 when the educational phase of the license period should be over and a straight fine is written.
I think as part of the fine process, a persons gear should be confiscated until their fine is paid. Any gear unclaimed after 1 full year will be donated to childrens, disabled citizens, senior citizens or veterans fishing programs.
