Last Saturday, one of the guys I trap shoot with was using his single barrel over gun ( I believe it was a kreigoff) He let a Federal paper round go then threw in a Handicap load. Pulled the trigger and all hell broke loose. The forearm grip SHATTERED, the receiver split into about 30 pieces, one of which launched the sideplate into one of the other guys new pickups and made a HUGE dent, the barrel fell to the ground and the stock was split. One of the guys ran over and was immediately looking for blood.....there was none!! LUCKILY, he's a right handed shooter....the right sideplate blew out and hit the truck. If he was lefty, he'd be dead! The largest piece of the forearm stock was about 2" yet he was uninjured. Really makes ya think about life.

The way we figure, the paper basewad got jammed in the barrel just a bit up from the forcing cone and when the caps load went out, it had nowhere to go.

Guy was damn lucky to be alive and uninjured. A little frazzled but alive to shoot another day!
