I'm no electrician but I believe this would run on a similar outlet as a clothes dryer, electric stove top or heavy duty A/C. I think these circuits are typically rated 20A or 30A.

Volts not Amps Frank

you can't run a 230 volt fan on a regular 120/110 volt circuit.

I am no electrician but there is a huge difference from 120 and 230.

electric dryers , your electric stove and some large air conditioners like thru the wall type run on 220/240 volt. The plug is a different configuration. It has to be a double pole breaker in the main box.

Frank is it a new fan or an old one, can you find out how many amps it draws?

I was looking on Flea Bay for axial motors to build a spray booth. And someone here suggested that you can get 239 CFM fans on there for $20.00 maybe. Some of the higher CFM fans were 230V, and I figured it was a dryer type plug needed. And its somewhat of an overkill in the fan department, that is a fan that big. Thanks Bill.
