First 2010 Trip: Cod Fishing RI
A few of us went out yesterday on the Island Current head boat out of Pt Judith @3AM to chase those bottom fish. Great 14hr day on the water and a few fish boated.
First sunrise while on the water of 2010 and went to that secret location where our Capt. was the only one to know where to find fish.

Tested the line this morning: it is the f%#%#%#% PowerPro. If anyone else has recently purchased (1500yd spool 50lb test) of this red sh*t, test breaking point before using. I spooled it up last Dec and this is first use, breaks as if it were a piece of thread. Three separate trials showed the break point at 20lbs!

You are lucky you were that close....after no sleep Thursday and pulling up those tiny cod all day Friday you probably couldn't have walked any further! Sorry about the truck.

With regrets I couldn't make it. Have it
on very good info that haddock at Stellwagen
is good bet for this week. Any takers please
advance notice. Buzz, your sunrise reminded
me of David Lean's in Lawrence of Arabia.
Jeff, your escort has got to be worthy of posting
here.

I was about to badmouth Shimano PowerPro for not sending me a replacement spool but thought I'd give Customer Service a call first. Turns out my replacement had been authorized but I bought red and red is discontinued so my order sat in cyberhell. The phone call clarified everything and I said send me any color then. 1500yds, 50lb test is in the mail. They're throwing in some marketing paraphernalia (patches/stickers) for the wait...
FYI: attached is the form to use in case you ever doubt the quality of your PowerPro
