Pogies in Boston Harbor

Anyone want to share where to start looking theses days. I have been using small pollock jigged up at the Graves but would like to locate some Pogies. Thanks.

What are you getting pollock on? I've never gone for them.

I'm hoping to get more mackerel tomorrow. Still was having luck as of last weekend.

One of the local guides in Dux has been jigging up lots of little pollack this year and having good success with them in Dux bay. It makes sense. I haven't seen a pogie this year in my parts but I'm not out every day either.

get out early to get macks. like no later than 5ish.

get out late for the pogies. been netting at night. they are pretty thin but doable.

live to fish. fish to live. rod tips high.

I'm still getting Macks in the morning, off the ledges of Boston Harbor. Don't expect that to last much longer and am surprised they've been around this long.

Talked to Mr Pogie from the south shore at a traffic light the other day. He said the seiner has been fishing amongst the moorings illegally in Quincy.

Say goodbye to the pogies in Quincy.

Was out on Monday mid-morning found Mackerel at the Graves. Trolled them up using a Sabiki rig. Picked up 4 small fish to 29" at Deer Island in the deeper water outside the light.

Hello guys, been reading posts on here for a long time, and finally registered. That pisses me off to no end to hear about that Seiner in Quincy, am I understanding this right, is that boat one of a few grandfathered in when they banned them in this state? Anyway, got as many Pogies as I wanted last season, but this year is way different as we all know. Got em early morning at Walloston mostly, and the wall in winthrop, as well as around snake island/crystal cove. Gotta put time in tho. Lynn Harbor's got tons of 4 inch Pogies there too. Gonna hit the rip tonight, lookin for poges first and eels as the backup. Should be a good night for anyone fishin too tonight, Persied metoer showers tongiht. That, and a 50 pounder would be magical!!!
