I have a blue ribbon crop of crabgrass in the backyard. Might call the local 4H and try to enter it in a competition. I actually thought I had the lawn under control this summer... but I have lost the battle.

Yup almost made it to Sept before getting out the mower again, this afternoon when the grass dries...just surveyed the area and doesn't look like any major grub damage as there is now a nice uniform green starting to show all over the yard. Sometimes hard to tell where brown is drought caused or insect damage until greenery reappears (or doesn't).

What was brown is now green. Need to put gas in the mower, but, that will have to wait till after I do some tuna .

It was so dry this summer that the crabgrass wouldn't grow in my lawn. I usually get overtaken by it. Now my good grass is coming back nice and strong. Hopefully it will fill in some after I plan on feeding it (organically) and I can get it strong for the winter.

Did they blame that on Bush too?
Have they appointed a mega $$ panel to investigate why it "rained on his parade"?
(sorry, I couldn't resist)
