Anyone going to Cutty Next week?

We'll be there 9/7-9/10 (Tues-Friday). Just curious if any other S-B'ers will be out there.

Hopefully you'll get a break in these offshore storms and be able to fish...otherwise bring lots of booze.

You may want to reconsider given these heaves and what they are predicting. Takes quite a while for it to lay down enough out there to be able to fish. Besides, fishing has been real slow out there.
If go, definately be prepared for "PLan B".

Guess we'll wait and see what we end up doing. Not looking to nail cows all week, but hoping the water will be fishable. Maybe we'll get lucky and the storm will takes it's eastern most track... likely still suck though.

Barring a direct hit, you may well be fine. The swells from this next hurricane are forecast to be at their peak Sat and Sunday, then drop off very fast (unless the next storm in line becomes an issue). By Tues night or Weds I would think the water will be fishable and the fish may be making up for lost time. I don't know about numbers of fish, but I think your chances at a special fish are not ridiculous. Those big fish off Block and Fishers will have moved somewhere as water temps peak, and most years they end up around Cutty......even if August was off this year. Good luck.

Went by today and the water was nice. Fish are close enough in good numbers and size.

Not the best tide IMO, you will have low water most of the late night. You can still catch but the place is a much better place when the near shore boulders are covered. I like your choice of mid-week though, (that is when I visit...weekends are a joke nowadays with all the yahoos that swarm the place, yet another fishing destination headed to be ruined by the masses, thanks in part to TV/magazine/web publicity)

Also you could be in for some dirty water from these storms and weed along with a slew of lobster pots in the surf from the storms. I would wait a month if you could.

That said, it is a beautiful place and you will have a great time no matter what the fishing.
be safe and good luck

go and have fun. just bring something (beer, whiskey, hookers, blow, whatever you like) in case the weather turns.

I agree. I would anyway. Do some fishing, hang with freinds, drink some beer. Better than being at home.
