Custom curved glass guy needed

On my pilothouse all of the windows are glass except the two curved parts on the fwd corners which look to be a lexan or plastic. From sitting in the sun in Florida they have been hazed and I would like to replace them with glass so they are more rugged and will stand up to the elements better.

Do any of you know where I could have a 2 panes of glass made to fit this? I would be willing to remove the old ones and send them to whom ever could make it.

Yeah I am waiting to hear back from them. I really don't want to replace it with the orignal lexan...I want glass like the flat windows.

A piece of custom slumped glass like that is going to be big $$$

I could do it, but i do not have the ability to temper glass- and a piece of non tempered glass in a wheel house is a major liability waiting to happen.

how many curved lexan pieces will equal the price of one curved glass piece.

Order all now and you will have enough replacements for the life of the boat.

I spoke to the builder... Lexan is 1/50 the cost and because of that they are all lexan

How hard is it to form a lexan window like that?

cant you get one from the maker of the boat??? I know,, but I had to ask,,,,

also look for stretched acrylic,,, they use that in airplanes,, super think and does not yellow,,,,

hard. There's enough guys around that do it, search for boat windshields there used to be a few guys around that did it in Ct I believe.

If they are hazed, oxidized, yellowed and any small scratches you might want to try

Meguiar's Headlight Restoration Kit. One step process.

It is simple to use. I was thinking of replacing my lexan, could not see out of, had to put head to the outside until a friend put me onto this stuff. Looks like new. Go by directions, cost about 25 bucks. May need cordless drill and two fully charged batteries if you do not have electrical outlet close by. Get it at auto supply.

I agree!

I don't think its that hard. depending on the size you can use a heat gun or if its small enough to fit in your oven build a mold and slow heat the piece of lexan for a couple hours then drape it over your mold then cut to size.

Depends on how much effort you want to put in or if whatever the cost of having it done is worth it to you. I'm guessing that will cost around 250 bucks.

I just got an email from the builder...he said that I can do it myself that it is thin lexan (it feels like a couple sheets to me) and that if I take out he is sure it will lay flat and I can use it as a template.
He said just use the right drill bit as it cracks easily. He said I should be able to get everything I need at Home Depot. (He also said if he had any laying around he would send them to me.)

These boats are semi custom and no two are really fully alike. I think they made like 70 or so without the pilothouse and only 6 or so with the pilothouse. (3 of the pilothouse boats are now in MA and were all in OB harbor a few weeks ago!)
I don't think they are making anymore of this model as they redesigned the boat and it is now an express type with twin IPS drives... it is a different beast now. But I really like the pilothouse..esp when it is raining.

I just bent some lexan its not too bad to do. Torch is waaaaay better than heat gun. And if I can do it anyone can.

Fishing the derby??? If so you will see me out there...someplace. When it is nice I'll be on the boat, when it is crappy, I will be hoofing it. If we cross paths...ch 78 (and sometimes 68 )is the local chit-chat channels out here.

Dude, Seriously that is the best layout for a fishing boat that I can think of. You get the best of both worlds.

Yep, fishing a week of it anyway, hopefully have a good weather window. You never know this time of year.
