Where does the rubber go?

I was wondering if anyone has looked into where the rubber from tread wear goes. Could it have an effect on people, is it possibly responsible for asthma or other lung issues? I would think when it wears off of tires it becomes airborne because with all the vehicles on the road I never notice the rubber dust anywhere. Perhaps someone should look into getting a grant($$) to study the effect it has on living creatures.

The rubbers that I know of went to good use, non polluting and kept the birth rate down.

Not the Conney island whitefish, which by the way about 15 years ago when I had HMO coverage my doctor treaded me for Syphilis twice with some heavy duty antibiotics (which screwed with my stomach) because of a soar you know where. When it kept occurring I figured out it was the latex Condoms and knew for sure after she left and my need for condoms was drastically reduced. Same doctor also told me to flush my ears out which led to ear problems/pain for about two months, I haven't been to a doctor since.
