if it doesnt swim try reducing the angle of the plastic lip. ive been messing with clear lips for awhile. ive found that around 15 degrees works best.

STAGE TWO. I pulled the plastic lip. filled it in, threw on a old lip I had around. an put a split ring on. that should help. Ill take him for a swim tomorrow. if that doesent work Ill pull everything an BURN him in the fire place.
GOOD LUCK GOOD PLUGGI

that lip looks good just do less of a bend...or if you get bored try making one of these if you want to make somthing with a lip.

this one swam good but the tail didnt move so a single joint is better. i just used plexi glass and cut it on a band saw then used a belt sander to get the shape i wanted. ive used just a square piece and swam about the same.

i would say its more of the angle that you cut in the plug then shape of the lip. ive cut triangle, square, rectangle, they swam almost identicle. what i do too is get the plexi glass to fit snug into the plug and cut a few different lips so you can interchange them. if the slot is a little big just put masking tape on the tip of the lip that is going into the plug so it doesnt fall out when you are testing. i use the swimming pool in my neighborhood haha. let me know if you have any questions. i can get pics too if you want.

justinhill, GREAT INFO. I took him for a swim an all is well, swims GREAT, SEEMS it was the LIP FIRST cast I hooked WEEDS cleaned them off an second cast FANTASTIC WIGGLE,WIGGLE,WIGGLE. I thinking the weight of the lip might have helped also. NOW I know what to do, to do MORE little guys all my SCRAP wood will be LITTLE GUYS, should have a good SCHOOL of them for next season.
GOOD LUCK GOOD PLUGGIN
