Tin collectors?????
Anyone know anything about the C. PASQUALE / DIAMOND LURE tins?
Supposedly made in the 1950's and 1960's and were very popular?
Nothing on google, I have about 20 of them here I'm going to remaster.
Curious if anyone knows anything about them?

From what I've been able to find out this was two guys, possibly father and son, maybe brothers. Charlie and Wally Pasquale. Were made on LI somewhere east of NYC, one or both guys worked for the NY Times as press operators. These tins were made of Linotype scrapped from press operations. Production was ceased sometime when they started to go digital print and they couldn't source the Linotype lead cheaply to make it worthwhile.
I would love to find out where the molds are if anyone knows. The guy I got these tins from was going to get the molds because he bought 6-8 large boxes of tins back then but for some reason the guy never produced them and went in the hospital after a few months of trying to contact him, he died sometime after. The molds could still exist or could have been destroyed.
There should be lots of these out there in collections and people's basements, from what I've heard they were very popular back then.

These were made in Brooklyn I now know also. Up to about 1972. I'll throw some more pics up when I get a chance. There's alot of neat little small ones too. I'm thinking Bonito and False Albies. Real sweet looking shapes.

I don't know much about the company but I do remember the eel being in my grandfathers bag. They would jig outside Moriches inlet with them when I was younger and I remember my grandfather had a box of them.
Nice job trying to bring these back to life Salty.

30 lbs of Pasquale's. Probably the largest collection on earth.
This guy was into some serious stuff. There's 4-5 more that I never even seen before in there too. Going to take a day just to go through them and catalog/grade them. Sorry for the crappy pic I just got the cellfone at home.
Going to be expanding the tins line ALOT next year.

HEY CHUM 
Were those tails on those Pasquale tins in that box the originals or what you put on them? Curious if they did indeed use feathers on the tails. I've tried with both and like the feathers better for action. |
