FISH FINDER

I sold my old hummingbird FF with my 15 footer so now I need to put a new unit in my 21 proline.

I was looking at the Furuno 6100LS, I like it cause' its a thin unit (my dash space is limited). Its under 300 bucks
-dual frequency
-B&W (which is fine) they call it silver screen (???) and I think its good and clear on bright days. .

Comes with transom mount high speed ducer.

I know Furuno is the BIG name in radar and FF.

Any opinions?
Anyone got one of these?

I got one but I haven't used it yet ...

It's gotten some really good write-ups. Basically the same as the 6000 with slightly less power in the ducer and the mon screen - otherwise same engine.

Time will tell if it last the summer on my boat or if it get's replaced with a suitable color unit...
Street Price seems to be a $270 + 85 for transom xducer up to $200 for triducer thru hull (fish/speed/temp)

HAve the LS6100, mounted the transom mount to shoot-through and was working at 25MPH and higher.

I have the thru-hull tridcer if you want to do it right - will sell it for
$175 or consider trading for fishing gear.

Let me know if you're interested.

I would try to get an airmar transducer if you can. These are far superior to the manufacturers ducers. I can get depth readings at 60 mph, and mark fish @ 30 or so. This is a $100 transom mount triducer.

Guys,
Most of the mfgs. use airmont transducers. Odds are the one in the box is an airmont.

Roop;
Good deal, but I have a transom mount now and it will be easier to just put the new bracket in the same spot.

The ducer is sold separately from the FF.
I'm not sure if its an airmar. or is it airmont???

You guys mentioned 2 names here. Typos ??

I am ready to order it today so I might have it by the weekend.

John:
I found the unoit for 260 and the ducer for 80.

I will stick with the transom mount, again since I will be removing the bracket for the hummingbird I have (had), I will try to reuse some of the holes or at least stay in the same location.

I dont care about getting good FF signals at higher speeds, I think just a depth reading is sufficient to make sure you have enough water.

For Fishfinding I am ususallly going slooow.
