anyone ever seen one?
My dad took this Bot Fly out of one of his rabbits a few days ago. I guess it can be common, but this is a first for me. Check out the hole it left in the side of the bunny

Never seen one either. Interesting though. It might have deposited eggs in that rabbit.

Anyone watched "Monsters Inside Me"? They had one on the bot fly. I think they get in from a mosquito bite... can't remember.

wow. I saw those on "monsters inside me" too! but the way I remembered it, they were only in the Amazon or some other more exotic locale. I do remember one fun factoid: some botflies that infest rats eat the testes of the rat! Maybe one of the Cape Cod guys should get some for those seals they love so much! (insert wacky smiley face.)

I didn't think they were around here. Is that an imported rabbit?
On another note, that pic kind of looks like a girl I once "dated". She really needed a Bic.

I think that the real question is "what did Roy catch with the bot fly larvae?"

Where was your rabbit that it picked up a bot fly? You get those in Central America, as others have mentioned.
