Couple Hand carved
These two are a little different for me because they are targeting LMB. They are for a fundraiser at my son's High School. Both are carved from basswood with epoxied screw eyes and E-tex top coat. The popper is about 3 1/2" and the frog about 2 1/4". I like the way the frog creeps on the surface with that J-bug lip, I may have to upsize that one for Musky.

Douglas,
Awesome work, I would love to see some video of that frog coming through the water.
Well done,

Wow! I hope they draw the bids they deserve and the winner appreciates what he gets.

Thanks guy's, yeah I know what you mean about drawing a proper bid but you just never know about those things. I guess I'll put them in some type of box as presentation may help bidders open their wallets. I sure hope whoever buys them decides to fish them, because thats what they a designed to do.
As far as time invested, about 1 hour each in carving, then the basic sealing, testing, priming, painting and E-tex. I use HOK automotive paints so dry times are almost immediate. From start to finish the popper paint job was done in 30 minutes and the frog in about 15, so it wasn't so bad. 7 colors on the popper and 4 on the frog.

I'll let you know next time I'm there. maybe we can grab a coffee. I'm usually in town for a few days at a time. Our partner, FIS, is on Brown Deer Road in the old Metavante building.
