Fish Lift.......

Wow...I felt like a little kid today! I have lived in W.Mass all my life and have never gone to see the fish lift at the holyoke dam until today! Pretty cool stuff...I think I could have stayed all day just in the veiwing area watching all those shad just swimming around waiting to continue their journey!!!!

definately stop by there if youre in the area this time of year......just seeing the process they have to go through is pretty amazing when you think about it!

ok...just had to share...I will stop babbling now...

Exclamation up to 700,000 fish

yes jenn i agree, it is quite a huge operation and the numbers of fish carried up the elevator can reach numbers in the hundreds of thousands. Stripers ,shad ,salmon ,and the diminishing herring.
