Good Karma
This happened a little while ago. was fishing with a few friends. Our group is gettin into a few fish, but I wasnt for the first 1/2 hour or so, my buddy next to me straightens out a split ring and i lend him my split ring pliers so he can do a little plug surgery. well next cast boom im on, "just needed to straighten out my karma" i say. Now my name forever is, Karma dudeeeeee.... great
Well next night, same crew, doing much better. same guy I lended the plier to night before loses a big fish, breaks the braid above the leader. my next cast, hook up, real nice fish. i lose it 10 ft in front of me. reel in, and whats attached to my bent out vmc? Guy's 5 ft of braid, leader, and sp minnow he lost 5 minutes ago!!! hooked up to the same fish with a plug in its face!
So of course he ties it on, and we continue to smash fish for the rest of the tide. That plug just wasnt ready to die!
karma dude.... like... whao
Anyone have any interesting Lost and Found stories!?

That's great!!
I once heard a story about a guy fishing with a brand new boga grip and he reels up a big bluefish and as he is ready to release him he drops the fish with boga still attached to the fish in the water. Gone!
About 20 yards to his left his buddy is fishing and not too much longer reels in a bluefish with a boga hanging out of its mouth!! Crazy!

Great story.Glad you're into good fish already.
A couple weeks ago I was fishing a black and blue pig n jig and broke it off on a fish. Next day I'm fishing a lizard, hook up again, but the fish came unbuttoned. I could still feel tension on the line so I figured I snagged a branch on the retrieve. Reel it in and it's my pig n jig

I saw a guy fishing w/ a Mepp's spinner at a trout pond in RI hookup. A hook from the spinner was in the eye of a size 8 bait hook hanging from the trout's lip.

thanks guys, I like the boga, pig and jig and the trout story too ha!
Thinkin back, either I hooked the same fish my buddy lost just moments before, or probably more lilkely his broken rig was floating down current and it just got wrapped up in my line when i was fighting the other fish... hmmm. Either way it was a pleasant suprise

Took some friends squid fishing sat night. The new guys were struggling a bit to get the feel. I let one of then use my rod rigged with my favorite jig and naturally, within a few minutes it was hung up and gone. Oh well.
Last night, PRBuzz and I head out to the same spot. We were fishing about 20 yds further down the dock, catching nothing amid 30 other fishermen. Phil looks down and sees a piece of mono on the dock and its attached to a squid jig, just sitting there on the dock. MY SQUID JIG!!(I was using a particular mini snap and the jig was missing one eye). How in the world it got there and nobody snatched it up I will never know. Thank you Karma(and Phil).
This incident got us talking about a trip to the canal several years ago. It was one of those dark damp still nights that just felt right. I had one eelskin jig left and had a feeling it was going to be the ticket. First cast, backlash about 50 yds into the cast and snap off the 'skin! &%^((%^!!! I retie, new leader, new bucktail, first cast and I catch the eelskin jig?!?!?! Naturally, the fish Gods have something in store for me so I put the skin back on, cast(No, no backlash this time), bump, bum, bump...ON!!! The fish starts tearing line on the meatstick. Just as I have her stopped and start to turn, the hook pops! Get it in to find the hook straightened like an L, never had that happen before or since. I don't blame anyone for not believing that story, sometimes I question myself, but its my story and I sticking to it.

I was about 12 fishing freshwater. We were fishing on a wall about 5' above the water. For whatever reason I had to walk away for a minute and I stupidly leave my rod next to the wall. I was smart enough to reel in the bait. My friend wasn't paying attention while walking past it headed to his spot. He accidentally kicked it in. He ends up going swimming looking for it but to no avail. About three months later a few of us are at the same spot. One of my friends hooks up and his rod is doubled over. He announces its a BIG fish. It was my rod. The reel was junk by then but I still have the rod. It was my first rod and i fished it for a few years after , now just sits retired.

Happened to me on The Block one Nov. Bob Guillitone lost a pink needle at the SW point. 2 hours later Scotty Slocum hooked it right thru the eye of the plug.

Here we go again
Karma part 2. well I was crushing schoolies on my brandy new shimano orca this morning, felt a little tap tap, went for the hook set and felt the worst feeling in fishing... nothing. Cursing and huffing I retied and moved spots to find a million more schoolies on top water.
Shortly after I got a phone call from my buddy I was fishing with earlier in the morning. He said he talked to a guy that saw a fish floating around on the surface and caught a herring colored orca attached to a schoolies face! Of course I told mike "WELL GET IT BACK FROM HIM GD IT!!!" the gentlemen decided not to suspecting foul play.
Mike said its that guy with the orange fish gripper we saw right near our cars. So on my way back I see the guy and say "excuse me sir..." who turns around and ITS CHEF CHRIS!! Unreal so we catch a few more fish and I get my rediculously expensive plug back being this time on the other end of the lost and plug found experience! The plug had like 20 yrds of braid wrapped around it, must have had a frayed section from rubbin on a rock. What are the chances? mind you we were at least 200 yards apart from where I broke the plug off and where chris was fishing... Thanks Chris!

This summer, freshwater, fishing a swift moving big pool on a river. Lose a panther martin spinner on a long cast, stuck on the bottom. 15 seconds later my friend says "want your spinner back?" He had hooked the eye of the snap swivel with his spinner. Chances?

That was too funny this morning!!
I'm walking back from round one and see this small fish, cruising on the surface its 12" max, its swimming in a tight circle, after watching it for a bit I realize it has a plug its in mouth/face, so i decide ill try snagging the line and hopefully release the fish and score myself a plug.
After a few tries with an sp minnow, it catches the line, i hand line the lil guy in and theres a $30 shimano orca in its mouth, sweet score! Fish is released after a few pics. Poor little guy couldn't swim down cause of the buoyancy of the plug.
There was a guy watching the whole thing, I said it had a shimano orca attached to it and he claimed "oh thats my friends he lost one earlier" he didn't ask for it back, then he said I knew the guy, Johnny sax, no $hit. I figure johnnys parked near me ill leave it on his rack.
Next cast I hook up with the biggest fish of the day on a herring colored jig, then johnny walks up and we start bsing about the plug and continuing to catch fish, he misses class and I'm 1.5 hour late for work.
Good karma buddy, and nice fishing with you again, its been a while.

One day fishing in my boat with Ducketts and BiteMe...Ducketts catches a fish(no really-that is not the strange part)on a yellow plug that was his first ever Ho'D(from Rockfish)and proceeds to break it off...he is bumming(not about losing the fish...but the plug).
The next day, I ran the boat hard to get all of Ducketts' tears to run out of the scuppers(took awhile but I managed)...and then Biteme and I set up in same spot where we were getting fish the day before...
Biteme says "hey look a plug..."
24 hours later...all those tides...and that yellow plug that Ducketts lost floats right up to the middle of my boat ...Biteme reaches over the side and picks it up like it was a picnic...crazy...
gives it back to Ducketts...
Man, what are the chances...
