getting sick sucks
When it rains it pours. Thew my back out doing a a lightweight chore (loading a bucket of crabs on the boat and while in an awkward position)...it has not gotten any better. I have been hobbling around for a couple weeks now. To compound that, I got a nasty cold which every time I cough my back went into spasm causing a lot of rather intense discomfort. To further compound life, i somehow got an ugly case poison ivy and it is driving me nuts and spreading now from my hands to my face and other parts south.
2 days ago I moved down to the guest room to isolate myself away from my family so no one else gets anything I have.
I woke up today and my cold is subsiding somewhat. Back pain is there but tolerable and PI is somewhat under control but itching me like mad.
One day at a time.... The good news is a lost a few pounds in the process.

i know what you mean Jim. There is some serious crud running around right now. I had bronchitis a couple weeks ago. Didnt go to the Doc until things really got bad. She said if I would have waited any longer it would have turned into pneumonia.
Before that I fenced int he whole yard with 6' stockade fencing, took over a week, no problems. Today, carrying my kids new bike into the house, BAM, lower back felt like someone stuck a knife in me.

Day 13 for me. Still hacking up lung butter. Whole family has it but it is getting better and at least I got energy last couple days. Last week I thought I was going to die. My Dr. said it is a good 2 week plague.

6 weeks here....thats right.....6 weeks! 2 trips to the Doctor, 2 rounds of antibiotics, 6 and a half days missed work and sick the entire week of the vacation I had and....BONUS.....I am at the Doctor Sunday for my second visit and he finds I have a heart murmur??? First I ever heard of it I said???? Blood work and EKG right there and an echocardiogram the other day!!!! Results......I have calcium buildup on a heart valve (very common from what the Doc says) also have a valve with 2 flaps or something (some type of common birth defect he says??) Anyway.....nothing to worry about he says....get another echocardiogram in a year as a precaution!!!! Hows that sound???? What a miserable 6 weeks......today was the best I have felt in all that time!!!! Ugh!!

I am still draggin....and my cough is nagging, each time painful to my lower back. I have some energy and slept with my spouse last night so I am getting better. The headache and chills are gone.
I hope everyone feels better soon.

Had it since Monday - Still feel like crap. Sinuses still blocked, headache, run down, crap all down the back of my throat. At least the fever seems to be down. The doctor says it is viral so I just have to wait it out. They say it can last from 10 to 14 days - not happy

I'm still dealing with a case of cellulitis from the beginning of November! I spent election week in the hospital with a leg infection, severe renal failure and a fever of 102. Five days of IV antibiotics and daily blood tests....at least the food was pretty good.
Now I'm still on oral antibiotics, but the skin rash is taking forever to clear up, which means that I could have a relapse at any time.
This is my second time dealing with this ailment, which had pretty much ruined my summer and is going to interefere with my winter as well!

bad cold
Just came down with it, Yuck. Honestly haven't had a cold hit me like this is years....My wife had it last week and I tried to help, sympathized with her but now that it has hit me I understand why she was dragging and really did not help out enough.

Coughed up the last "oyster" a week ago, so that is behind me but my back is in bad shape... Something is mechanically out of whack, I can feel it binding. I have to go see a specialist on the 3rd. I can not sit for long. Drugs are the only solution at the moment and I hate taking pills but it #^&#^&#^&#^&ing hurts so bad I have no choice. My wife gave me something last night and I never slept so good in my life.

Forget 2 weeks. I know someone who still has remnants of the cough after a month. She's been to the doctor twice and there is nothing to do but wait for the yuk to completely clear from the lungs.
I have had the flu starting Dec 18. Everything went away pretty well in about 10 days but that mucus cough is still lingering. Not every two seconds like before but still every nowq and then I cough up a lunger. Thats 16 days as of today. I feel better overall but wish the post nasal drip and coughing would just stop all together.

Well the back gave out... Been in the hospital for the last 4 days... Fin nightmare . MRI showed 3 ruptured disks 2 were old injuries but L2 is ozzing out fluid which is pressing on some nerves
Extreme pain at times with intense spasms at times
I will be on my back for the better part of a month taking steroids to reduce swelling an a load of pain pills . I hope I don't need detox when this is over. They think it will heal without surgery at this point buy I have to take it very easy took my first steps in 4 days ... Moved 50' with a walker
Great way to start the new yew eh?
