heh

nah dude... i'm not scared. and i would never rip off another dudes motto.

ok, well, here's the scoop...

i'm a 'watering-hole' fisherman... which means, i'll prolly be the one just having fun out thar with my $50 k-mart reel. nothing fancy. no boats, nothin' like that. i'm actually just this computer geek who loves catchin' big-arse fish once in a while.

would love to stick around and learn from the masters.

p.s. i'm a big linux geek lookin' for work if anyone needs a computer dude.

p.p.s. secretly, i'm a whoop-ass deep sea fisherman. love to catch them cods and also the EVIL BLUEFISH!!! MUH HA HA!!!

laterz

I use a 20 dollar building 19 special from 4 years ago. It was so cheap because the line was pre-wound backwards!!! I wish I had bought the whole lot of them!! It only cost me new line to make it a great learners pole!!

I have all manner of lures that have been so far completely useless to me. Yesterday it all came down to right place, right time, right bait (mack), and a hook simply tied on.

I would like some hints on lure fishing - It is hard to keep bait in the pickup truck for those spur of the moment stops during the morning or evening commute from hell.

MikeT,

I have a few certain lures/plugs I turn to on a very regular basis.
For topwater I like Atom poppers, old ones if you can find them,
otherwise Creek Chubs or Storm Chugbugs are fine.
For swimmers I like a standard Rebel long minnow(chrome/blueback),Cordell Red-fin(brokenback,color doesn't seem to matter) or Bomber Long-A(yes,in black/purple).
For distance casting, hands down its gotta be an Acme Kastmaster.Crippled Herrings are fine too.
Weight and size of the aforementioned lures depends on tackle type and size of fish you interested in.
These are what work for me.As far as colors go get a variety. The above mentioned colors are what seem to be working lately, for me anyway.
