Jr's Striper-bass.com Tourney
I think the tourney should be held at the end of johns street!
In September, the place is teaming with fish all day long. This way john can keep tabs on you all and weigh the fish right then and there!! Im sure he will let everyone park on his front lawn and then after the tourney head back up the street to his house for a good ol'e fashioned cook out!In his new backyard!! You can even dig yur own steamers for the backyard lovefest!!Im certain that his wife would have no problem with 20 or so guys crashing the house for the day. There is a tackle shop 1/2 mile from his house where you can get all yur possible's and learn the local landscape.(BYOB) For this party,Just remember that warwick recycles.Sounds like the perfect solution to a perplexing problem.
Oh ya, Im sure johns wife wont mind one bit!hehehheheheheheehehe

Bill, do the letters "F" and "Y" mean anything to you :P ?
It would make things easy though, wouldn't it. We could even have the " First Annual Bill "FlyMan" Nolan Fly Fishing Festival" now couldn't we ;D
I CAN"T wait for that to happen again, actually I can as that only happens at the end of the year like that...

OK, before this gets out of hand ... Actually, there might be a little BBQ come fall if conditions are the same as last fall - Unbelievable. I couldn't fish it because I was moving in but the pile of baitfish along the high tide mark was so high for so long, the gulls were stuffed and weren't even bothering them... There were a few dead bluefish carcasses along the beach though (some filleted and released).
GS - too early to tell on Saturday but maybe, I'll see how my wife's 2 day trip goes... BTW - there is an "unimproved" boat ramp at the end of my street ;D

Cool, maybe have to check that out soon. Any parking in the area, lol. Hows Friday if the weather looks better, or Saturday isn't good?
Tight lines.

John, if you live on s/g // well I had my first home on that street over twenty years ago. And as weird things happen I was working with a young couple who was looking for a house in Warwick because they couldn't afford the east side of the bay. I gave them p/o's and showed them this one . I never told them until they had made a deal that it was my first home. the day of inspection my wife stopped by// and she cried. Too many memories of good times when our kids were small and times where almost carefree./// That ledge just a wee South of your street holds fish most of the season// later///

John,
Went down to Conimicut Point at lunch yesterday. Looks sweet, maybe we can get together for some early morning before work fishing once the season starts? It's unfortunate I'm going to miss the before work trips to the Ditch, but the upper Bay can be quite productive as well.

Sure thing. There is certainly some good fishing in this imediate area although it may be more just afterwork trips as I leave my house at 5:30 am to go to work :'( ... Let's see, plan for day (April 24. 2001): Get out of work a little early, pick up a half dozen live buckies by the house, swim them for some bass... Oh, waht's this? My drag is screaming!!! Yep, think good thoughts...
PS - I might be delerious from the cold medicine ;P

Good, but Fridays are best for afternoon fishing as I target 2 PM to leave . I will apply for a kithen pass for the 24th. Do you need a FW license to take herring?

Yes, freshwater license is required to take heering from any runin the state no matter how close you are to the inlent. Although you can snag them off the beach it's best to get the license... BTW April 24th was just a fictional date but herring target by bigger bass should be getting common by then (more likely May though)... But Friday afternnons are when I hope to get free too...

John, thanks for the help, I just decided to register under a new name. So you live near Conimict Point? I visited there this past fall when all of those bruiser blues were in the area. The amount of bait swarming around the point was incredible, tons of bay anchovies and peanuts. It was a lot of funning tussling with those gators, and I had heard that they were camped out there for a while (which must have been why every hammerhead and their brother was there when I went -- but what should I expect going fishing in the afternoon?). Your tourney sounds like fun.

Welcome back Chris...
You should expect even more wall-to-wall hammerheads... You'll get a fair amount of decent anglers in that mix but the 15 percent (OK 25%) of nut jobs will remove some of the pleasure from it... I missed that blitz as I officially moved in 2 weeks after the blitzing stopped but I saw some video of it ang it was just acres of blitzing fish and bait as far as the eye could see in both directions...for weeks!!! OK, getting worked up now!!!

Slip, I swung by the canal run on Saturday just to see and it was empty... But it was about this time last year that I first saw them scooching up the run to the ponds....
