Marathon Fishing

Spent another two weeks fishing in Marathon....fishing was very good....weather was great, temps were 82-85 degrees most days and windy, very low humidity....March always seems to be the windest month....fishing on the Marathon Lady four hours every day for 12 days was very nice...mates R great and R there to help....I recomend taking your own spinning gear, if ya rent a rod from them they basically give ya what I call a tuna rod to catch small fish.

Bottom fishing was excellent, catching fish every day....yellowtail were plentiful as were mutton snappers...a couple of nice kingfish over 24 inches were taken on a double hook wire line with a whole ballyhoo for bait and the mates will rig it for ya...no more fishing Marathon till next January

Great food to be had but a little expendsive in a few places....want a great burger or other finger food, Burdines is the place to go very reasonable and priced right, on the water.... another nice place where the locals go is the Marathon Grill which opened in January, mixed drinks were $4.65 all day and evening...located at one of the shopping plazsa's
