Cuttyhunk trip 2015
Annual S-B trip to Cuttyhunk is scheduled for Thursday June 11 through Sunday June 14, 2015. There are slots available.
Many go over on Thursday morning ferry out of New Bedford, while some go over on Friday AM. We return on Sunday morning so that we are on the road home around noon.
Cost is 75.00 per night for the bed, 40.00 each way for the ferry, parking is around 25.00, and each man is assigned a food share to bring. If you want eels, bring them. Not much available on island in the way of supplies.
You must be mobile as there are no vehicles, so you will be doing a lot of walking. A lot of the shoreline is made up of loose bowling ball sized rock.
Great time. Great folks. It is all about fishing. If you are looking for a boozing weekend, look elsewhere.
PM me with interest and I will get you a password for the Cuttyhunk forum, which is where we answer questions, make assignments and do general planning for a successful trip.
Ross

I have fished Montauk, Block Island, and Cuttyhunk. But for me personally, Cuttyhunk is a surfcaster's paradise. Why? The opportunity to land a trophy fish. Learning new skills and techniques from fellow surfcasters. And the Structure! OMG....There is so much structure to fish on this small island that it would take a lifetime to discover and fish it all.
Each trip is unique. But, I will never forget my first...seeing those "Sup'ah Cows" has altered the way I hunt for striped bass.
Good food. Good fishing. Great people!
If Cuttyhunk is on your bucket list, get on board mate! It's going to be epic!
This trip is the best organised trip to Cuttyhunk. Period.

Just 4 short weeks from this morning, the early crew will be headed to Cuttyhunk. Still open slots. Usually have waiting list.... If you have interest, get in touch with me. I want to start the final preparations with regards to food assignments, etc within the week.....

500 plus views and no takers?....... Usually have a wait list.
Last bump.
We go with whatever but will probably be able to accommodate. From a planning point, the earlier I know the better.

New Tick In Town
Just read an article last week about the Lone Star Tick which has made it to Cuttyhunk and parts of the Cape. Go prepared.

Weather is improving. Food is all set. Decent reports from this past weekend. All systems are go! Seventeen from S-B headed over either Thursday or Friday. Couple other groups will also be on island and will be joining us for a Saturday feast. Going to be a great trip....

Best of luck out there guys. We had a group of 6 out there for 6/1-6/3 and although the conditions were not ideal (51 degrees, 17-22 ENE winds, gusts up to 30+, driving rain, etc.) we all had a blast. It was a first time out on the island for 4 of us and the consensus was that we would all do it again and hope for better conditions.
Bite was slow at best (I think 13 fish betw. 6 guys over about 100 man hours on the water), and it seems that NE blow pushed everything that was around up onto south coast areas and into the canal as we were getting the real time reports while dancing on the rocks out on Cutty...oh well!
But what an awesome place to experience. If you haven't been before you are in for a treat!
