Let down or spared??

'Morning everyone. We didn't get clobbered here in Lil Rhody the way the experts said we would and it looks like most areas were also less than expected. Looks like 4-5 inches of ice out there though, fun shoveling.... Got to go to work today :'( I guess...

Watching some of the news, they are saying alot of errosion on the east and northeast facing beaches. Maybe their will still be pieces of Wasque, Chatham, and Nauset left

Can the weather sensationalists get sued over the economic impact of falsely shutting down the east coast yesterday?? The roads were pretty bare yesterday morning but my train to Bahstin, normally packed, was only half full. The roads were getting nasty on the way home but it really wasn't that bad out... The only people that really made out are the food markets... just venting

Anyone get some decent snow?? (other than Jenn who we KNOW got clobbered)...

The lion that didnt roar! I was thinking the same thing about a law suit against the weather channell and the local news!! Home depot sold out of genarators and snow blowers! I think there are going to be alot of returns today! Im looking at the Tv And it looks like ma got spared a big blast also.

I cant beleve how much they sensationlize things! they get you all pumped up with constant updates and the ever present "emergancy managment agency" of rhode island in full swing for 6 inches???? In a way im happy,I have had enough of this winter, its been a long one!! There talking more snow and sleet for friday and saturday!!

So all in all,not a let down, just a hit in the wallet for all this damn bread and milk!

Fine by me, because I wasn't looking forward to shoveling 12 inches of cement. Right now I've only got about 2 inches and my boys can clear it away for me, since they are home from school....which I don't get. Stocked up on some cheep flashlights and food, but it wouldn't get wasted, so I can't complain.

Tight lines.

What a JOKE!!!!!!!!!! I've got people calling in to say they aren't coming in today because of the weather!!! The main roads up here are bare. I guess I would rather have people tell me they just don't feel like working today. With no traffic I got to work at 8:00am 10 minutes sooner than normal. The hardest part of the morning was finding an open donut shop for my morning coffee......Let's see March 6th, so many rods and so little time...........

I had to burn two vacation days---that's two less days I can spend at the Ditch this summer--because my school district panicked. By 3 PM yesterday, normal dismissal time, it was just another rainy day on LI. Today, we have about 3" on the ground, all the roads were plowed overnignt (they scheduled extra crews and I guess they felt they had to send them out even tho there was nothing to plow )and maybe another 2" forecast, and I'm home with them again.

I was going to go up to visit Brad over Patriots Day weekend--and pick up that rod, Mike--but now it might just be a Saturday visit, then Easter at Mom's.

Maybe those generators will come in handy during hurricane season. Although I think Worcester and western Mass got hit pretty hard, as did the area just north of NYC. I also saw a footage of a lobster boat moored in Pleasant Bay that was getting tossed around, I can imagine what the waves are like on the outer beaches.

I'm glad we got spared. I hate shoveling! They shut our plant down today so I'm out. Going to shovel and play with setting up the rod wrapper.

I guess the idea is that if you report the maximum potential of the storm , you are on the safe side if it fissles. If you say 8 inches and get 2 feet , people are pissed but if you say 2 feet and get 8 inches , people are relieved.

Spared that I didn't have to shovel 2 feet of snow, but I have to say I got duped into staying home yesterday by the damn newscasters! We did get close to 8" so far here in southern CT, more supposedly coming down all day today.
Can't wait for spring.

We got like 6 inches of snow and we are supposed to get another 6 inches tomorrow. I don't think that is going to happen. Being a weatherman has to be the BEST job ever. You can be wrong and you don't get fired.

I got duped too. I did go into work yesterday but left a noon time so I wouldn't get caught stuck in Providence when the 3PM train would get in. That was fortunate because the roads were pretty crappy by that time. But I did go to our construction site in Rhody today instead of to the offices in Boston and I felt a little guilty cause the roads were pretty clear.

Maybe I'll go fishing later today...

My dad decided to watch one of the weather channels to see the forecast. They were showing some floods you guys were having up in the RI/MA area. All I could say was, "If it was a little warmer, there would be a big bass right there." My parents just looked at me.
