I remember the post "Flaps gone". I thought he'd gone on a trip fishing. Little did I know until I opened the thread. Seven year and it seems like yesterday. Same with Hab. 9 years in Sept.

Thinking of him makes me try to be a better fisherman. Always loved listening to him answer questions.

That makes me sigh, and it is hard to communicate that by typing.....
I hope his wife and daughters are well. Would love to hear that they are and what they are doing with their lives. Steve was so proud of them.

The few times I had the chance to fish with him, it was obvious his passion for educating our youth was equal if not greater than his love for fishing. A truly inspirational guy.

I never met flap other than a very brief moment at one of the early plugfests. (2003 maybe?). But I really admired him and his outlook on life and fishing.
Still missed.

I was gathering up some plugs for a photo shoot today and paused on my flaptail collection; they are a special plug and they were even more so in the hands of someone like Steve who appreciated them - as he did all things fishing and family. He is missed, for sure.

i was walking into a store and this real tall guy was
approaching me that looked very much like Steve in
many ways to the point i thought i was hallucinating
or walking thru a "time bubble" portal of some kind
my brain was reeling trying to comprehend it
then i realized it wasn't him at all.

A 20x28 poster sits on the wall in my mancave of Steve putting into the beach on Sandy Neck in his tincan to have lunch with the Professor&I after a morning of fishing on the eastern flats of Dennis. That is near a 3' black Habs needle.Tony C. and I still speak frequently about the two of them. Peace.
